Steve Magie is a medical doctor, State Representative, and businessman with a proven record of standing up for the people of Conway.

Steve is owner of Magie Smith Charton Eye Clinic, has been an Ophthalmologist for more than thirty-eight years.   Steve attended the University of Central Arkansas and received his medical degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.  He did an internship at the University of Tennessee at Memphis and his Ophthalmology residency at Louisiana State University.

Steve Magie was elected as State Representative in 2012. As State Representative, Steve has fought to protect and improve Conway’s public schools, create jobs, and is an effective advocate for patients’ rights.

Steve Magie is heavily involved in the Faulkner County community. Magie served for five years on the Conway Civil Service Commission, is a member of the Conway Chamber of Commerce, a member of the Knights of Columbus and serves as the Secretary of Faulkner County Medical Society.  Magie is also a member of the Arkansas Sports Club.

Dr. Steve Magie is a respected leader in the Arkansas medical community.  Steve previously served as the president of the Arkansas Medical Society, which represents 4,000 physicians statewide.  Dr. Magie is the past president of Arkansas Ophthalmology Society and a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Medical Society.

Steve and his wife Becky are the proud parents of four children, thirteen grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.  They are members of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Conway.
